The University of the Philippines Manila Chorale (UPMC) held a Christmas program for the benefit of the Children's Rehabilitation Center.

The event titled "Nangangaroling po!: Tinig ng Ligaya, Pagsibol ng Pag-asa" was staged at the Central United Methodist Church in Manila on Saturday evening.

The group composed of over 40 members performed 15 holiday pieces, including "A Spotless Rose," "Kampana ng Simbahan," "Paskong Walang Hanggan," "Grown Up Christmas List," "Jingle Bells Calypso," and more.

Musical director John Steven Verrosa told GMA News Online that he chose the songs based on which ones will match the group's sound and which will also challenge the members so they could be better vocally and learn better techniques.

"After nun, tsaka lang nakapag-develop talaga ng proper program. Thankfully, naka-align siya dun sa nagging program namin for tonight, which is more of very sacred, reflective, na hindi natatanggal 'yung Filipino spirit," he said.

John Steven also teased that UPMC is planning to hold another major event in August 2025, of which he cannot share more details yet.

"We're easing into the 35th anniversary soon by 2027. So may mga major events na naka-line up na kailangang pag-usapan internally and hopefully magawa siya," he said.
