After seeing Marian give birth to Baby Ziggy, Dingdong's respect for mothers has become more profound

Dingdong Dantes said mothers like wife Marian Rivera should also be honored as much as people celebrate the birth of a newborn child.

In an interview with entertainment reporters at the press conference following his contract signing Monday, Dingdong said his respect for his wife Marian only has become more profound after witnessing her give birth to their second child Baby Sixto.

"Kapag nagbi-birthday nga 'yong isang tao, dapat sine-celebrate din 'yon eh. Kakaibang respeto talaga lalo ang binibigay ko sa aking asawa dahil second child namin 'yon. I also wanna honor her because of all her sacrifices," Dingdong said.

"Nandun ako, nakita ko eh, kaya alam niyo, as much as I celebrate the birth of my son, I also  celebrate of course yung life ni Marian, celebrate for strength," he added, saying he will try to provide whatever it is Marian will need to recover and feel comfortable after giving birth.

How is their experience different from Zia's birth

At a little over 7 lbs, Baby Sixto is slightly heavier and is taller compared to Zia, Dingdong said.

"Iba siya, mahirap sabihin eh. It's different in a way, kasi nung una, bago lahat. Dito siyempre may dagdag na hindi ko masabi — in terms of  pain, [si Marian] lang makakasabi niyan so like halimbawa nandun kami sa delivery room pero nagwo-worry kami kung nasaan 'yung anak namin (Zia), nasa bahay," he narrated.

Dingdong said Ate Zia was thrilled when she met her baby brother for the first time.

"Niyakap niya kagad. Sobrang higpit nga eh, sabi ko 'oh 'wag masyadong tight'," he said.

The actor said he, Marian and Zia still have to decide on their new bundle of joy's official nickname, "Iba iba pero ang mahalaga diyan  kung ano 'yung nickname na magiging komportable si Zia."
