Jimuel Pacquiao on dad Manny: 'I understand what he had to go through'

It's no secret that Manny Pacquiao has an extraordinary rags to riches story: he had punched through the odds and carried his family out of poverty.

Now living a life more lavish than many can afford, his eldest son Jimuel said he's grateful for his "hardworking" father.

In his latest vlog, Jimuel shared that he does not actually remember much about the time when they were poor.

"Actually we're very lucky kasi nung medyo mahirap pa 'yung buhay, maliit pa kami noon. So nung lumaki na kami, nareceive na ng dad ko 'yung big break niya, champion na siya. Naranasan lang namin 'yung this life. I feel very blessed kasi 'yung hirap hindi namin masyado naaalala kasi maliit pa kami noon," he said.

However, he does possess an understanding about their past and present situation.

"From what I hear about my dad, I understand naman what he had to go through," he said.

"Not everybody can live like we can," he added.

Jimuel said that Manny always taught them to be humble and grateful for what they have.

"I'm really thankful to God na binigyan niya kami ng very hardworking dad para nandito kami ngayon kung saan kami. Our dad taught us to always be humble kasi whatever we have now, if God says it, mawawala. Always be humble and be thankful," he said.

Jimuel is the eldest son of the boxing champion and Senator with his wife Jinkee.

They have four other children: Michael, Princess, Queenie, and Israel.
