Megan Young, Mikael Daez reveal they got ready for their wedding in the same room

Megan Young and Mikael Daez had an unconventional and surprise wedding last January — and it seems there's where that unusual spirit came from. 

On Instagram, the couple shared behind-the-scenes photos from moments before they tied the knot, where they are seen getting ready in the same room.

Traditionally, brides and grooms aren't allowed to see each other until they are at the altar.

"Many may not know but Boneezy and I got ready in the same room. #RIPtradition. It just seemed more convenient and it made logistics WAY easier, plus I’d never have this uber derpy photo of Bonez if we didn't set it up that way," Mikael wrote in the caption of his post.

Meanwhile, Megan shared another version of the photo where she's seen wearing a crop top and jeans holding a cup of joe.

"Wedding day preps. I didn’t know you were supposed to have a 'preparations outfit' hahaha oh well looking at this picture, it’s as if we switched roles," she wrote.

Megan narrated Mikael always waited on her to finish getting ready, but during their wedding preps, the tables turned.

"'How long is it going to take you?' Mikael would always ask me as I’m getting my hair and makeup done. I’d reply 'two hours.' Mikael would usually shake his head in disbelief. 'Okay, I’ll just have some coffee first.'"

The couple had two wedding ceremonies: one in Batangas on January 10, which was attended by just 10 guests and another on January 25 in San Roque Church in Subic followed by a reception at a ranch. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
