Catriona Gray on Pride Month: 'This is not just about the LGBTQ community. It’s about all of us'

The queen has spoken.

Catriona Gray on Instagram Sunday clarified what Pride was all about, asserting her position as an ally. "The fight is not about giving special privileges but providing equal rights," said the Miss Universe 2018.

"That’s why ally voices are so important. We need to stand up and say that this is not just about the LGBTQ community. It’s about all of us," she continued.

Posting a series of photos that hinted of the rainbow, the symbol of LGBTQ+, Cat pointed out one very important thing: Pride is protest.

"It's not just about whipping out your rainbow flag," she wrote. "Since the beginning, pride has always been about protest."

Queen Cat ended her statement by addressing the community. "You are seen. You are loved. You are worthy."

Cat's statement, released on Sunday afternoon, comes at the heels of her questioning the arrest of LGBT protesters last Friday. — LA, GMA News
