Daughter honors parents who did not finish studies as siblings graduate from college

These sisters have graduated from college through the hard work of their parents who have not finished their studies themselves.

Isabel Evangelista, the eldest of four siblings, paid tribute to her parents in a Facebook post, sharing how she saw her parents struggle to make ends meet.

It wasn’t easy to finish college, she said. Apart from standing for three hours straight during her commute from Imus, Cavite, to Intramuros to get to class, she also had to work part-time at a computer shop and sell things online to help her parents.

Fortunately, in 2018, she received her diploma in Business Economics, and in 2019, her younger sister graduated cum laude with a degree in Computer Science.

This year, another sibling finished Tourism Management, while their youngest just graduated from senior high school.

“Kung ano ’yung ginagawa mo sa tingin mong pangarap mo, ituloy mo lang. Kasi hinahatak ka niyan. Matuto tayo i-celebrate ’yung success natin, big or small,” said Isabel. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
