Max Collins opens up about struggles in breastfeeding

Max Collins celebrated World Breastfeeding Week by sharing her own struggles in breastfeeding Baby Skye.

The Kapuso celebrity said she's had a "crazy" journey so far, and can't comprehend how some moms can breastfeed for years, or breastfeed twins.

"Yes, it's a magical, intimate experience to have with your child, but it's also physically and emotionally draining," she said in an Instagram post.

She shared that for the first two weeks of attempting to breastfeed Baby Skye, her milk ducts were clogged most of the time and "it was difficult to get the milk out."

"And once I got over that stump, a new challenge arrived! I was (and still am) having quite a difficult time producing enough milk for my baby (who feeds nonstop around the clock)."

She said that breast milk is "such a blessing during this pandemic," since it helps babies build their immune system.

Still, she added that it "isn't for every momma and that's OK."

"I grew up on formula and turned out fine. This week let's celebrate every mother's own unique breastfeeding journey," she said.

Max gave birth to Baby Skye last July 6. He is her first child with husband Pancho Magno.

Max did a water birth at home after admitting that she was anxious to give birth in the hospital, amid the pandemic.
