Jewel Mische says having no physical touch during courtship stage with husband forced them to develop emotionally

On their 6th anniversary together, Jewel Mische revealed that she and her husband Alister Kurzer had no physical touch during their courtship stage.

"We didn’t kiss, cuddle, lay together.. or anything else," Jewel wrote in an Instagram post.

They "barely hugged and we talked about everything," the former StarStruck "Ultimate Sweetheart" said, admitting that while courtship was kilig and fun, it was hard.

"Human flesh likes to deceive us," Jewel added, saying whenever that happens, she "had to be reminded many times of the bigger picture."

"It was our choice to set boundaries. We needed it. We knew how our 'equipment' worked," she said.

"We didn’t need to test it out because we were serious in wanting to honor God," she added.

According to Jewel, they waited two years and two months, "with half of those years being long distance."

But even if it was difficult, it worked. Jewel said their formula of "not being physical forced us to develop emotionally. It forced us to communicate."

"And because our visions weren’t clouded by sin & sex, we could really see each other’s flaws," she added.

She said that challenging period "set a beautiful foundation in our marriage."

"And I can’t wait to share with Aislah & Emerald about the journey mommy & daddy took. It’s possible to have a Godly courtship in a wicked dating world," she added. "God answered my prayer for a man that wouldn’t kiss me til our wedding day even though everyone told me I was crazy!!"

She ended her note with a greeting for her husband.

Happy 6th anniversary, @KurzerAlex. Thank you for finding me. Thank you for waiting for me. Thank you for courting me. Thank you for marrying me. Thank you for leading our family. HERE’S TO FOREVER and may we continue to honor the Lord with this union.

Jewel and her American husband Alister tied the knot in a winter wedding ceremony in Michigan back in 2015. They have two daughters together Aislah and Emerald.
