30 couples exchange vows during Taguig City's socially-distanced mass wedding

Thirty couples officially tied the knot on Friday during Taguig City's socially distanced mass wedding.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the local government unit shared numerous photos of couples who said their "I do's" during the "Kasalang Bayan" program held in Mercado Del Lago, Barangay Lower Bicutan.

Wearing their masks and face shields, the couples could be seen staying in their separate huts as they watched Mayor Lino Cayetano officiate the wedding through a television.

The al fresco ceremonies are part of the Civil Registration Office's program which was held quarterly before the pandemic hit the country.

The program is part of the city's campaign to make residents "realize there are safe ways to do things in the new normal."

Earlier in January, Taguig City signed an agreement with AstraZeneca for the acquisition of COVID-19 vaccines for its residents. —Kaela Malig/JCB, GMA News
