EA Guzman reveals secrets to 8-year relationship with Shaira Diaz

EA Guzman and Shair Diaza have been together for 8 years, a no mean feat considering they are both in showbiz, an industry that's seen its fair share of breakups among celebrity couples.

In a virtual press conference on Wednesday, EA told GMA News Online the secret to their longstanding relationship.

“Trust, love, and communication,” EA said, acknowledging that in showbiz, trust is the hardest to do.

“With love, ipakita mo lang. I do it by being sincere with everything I say and do," the award-winning actor said in Filipino.

The award-winning Kapuso actor said communication is also a vital in their relationship.

“We're both busy with lock-in tapings so it's important that we communicate. Twice a day, we call each other to check-in and share what's happening in our day," he continued.

When asked if and when he is planning to take their relationship to the next level, EA said they've been talking about it but there aren't any concrete plans as they are both prioritizing their careers.

“Si Shai ‘yung career niya ngayon, meron siyang bagong show, 'yung ‘Lolong.’ I'm be supporting her for that and for her other dreams, too before we settle down ,” he said.

EA said Shaira also does her part when it comes to supporting him in his dreams.

“Siya rin, ganon din naman siya sa kin. I'm 31, so I've been telling her it's headed that way,” he said.

“But at the same time ine-enjoy ko rin. There's no pressure between the two of us. We're enjoying each other's company without too much pressure,” he added. “Hahayaan lang natin isa’t isa na mag-grow. Hahayaan lang natin isa't isa na tuparin ang pangarap natin."

When they've both reached their goals and dreams, "that’s the time na gagawa ako ng next step para dalhin to sa next level," he said.

EA and Shaira celebrated their 8th year anniversary last February with a chill vacation in Boracay.

The two Kapuso stars recently starred in a movie together titled "Coming Home" where EA won the Best Supporting Actor award in the EDDYs. — LA, GMA News
