Jean Garcia writes tearjerking open letter for her late mom who died of COVID-19

A day before Mother's Day, Jean Garcia wrote a tearjerking open letter for her late mother, Sandra Garcia, who died due to COVID-19 last April.

"There isn't a day that goes by where you aren't on my mind. Memories of you flood me every single time and I can't ever find the words to express how thankful I am to have had you as my mom. It is something I thank God for everyday," she wrote.

"Mommy, I am holding on today the beautiful memories we had and the incomparable sacrifices you made for all of us that continuously inspire me to live, move on and do better each day," she continued.

Jean also expressed her gratitude to her late mother and asked for forgiveness for her shortcomings.

"I know I am not a perfect daughter for you. Know that I am still in great regret until this very day, because I missed out one important thing — I wasn’t able to grant more of the things your heart longs for," she added.

"A million THANK YOU’s would not even be close to enough as to how many you deserve," Jean continued.

Jean said her mom was "gone way too soon, but the impact you have left is substantial."

"I hope you know that. You were the light in so many peoples lives and you will forever have a place in our hearts," she added.

Jean expressed how much she misses her mother, hoping they would one day be reunited.

"You are heavily missed, but we are looking forward to the day when we can see you again," she wrote.

"I believe DEATH is not the end, because I know in my heart our love for each other will go on Alam ko na masaya ka na ngayon kasama si Daddy Boy at Tatay Junior. I love you Mommy!!! Fly HIGH and be our ANGEL on this earth," she ended her note.

Days after her mother passed away, Jean revealed that her mom was brought to more than 10 hospitals before she was finally admitted. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
