Girl cries happy tears after receiving a birthday surprise

A six-year-old girl went viral when she was caught on video crying tears of joy during her birthday party.

According to a “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” episode on Sunday, Francine, who lived in Quezon, only wanted to spend her sixth birthday with her parents, Francis and Jhenny.

Since Francine’s parents worked in Las Piñas, they could only throw a party for their daughter—one they might not be able to attend.

Francis and Jhenny left their only child, Francine, to her aunt when she was just two years old so they could run their bakery business in Las Piñas City.

[It’s so painful because I can’t take care of her myself. It felt like I’m not being a good mother because I couldn’t attend to her needs.]

Francis shared that they did not earn a lot, and if they kept going back and forth, they would also have to spend a lot of money. In a month, they could only afford to visit Francine for three days, he added.

Francine said she understood why her parents had to work far away from her, but it still made her sad when she saw children her age with their parents.

Whenever they chatted on video, Francine would always ask her parents to come home because she missed them.
According to her parents, they weren’t supposed to visit her on her birthday and were just going to throw her a party.

“Nag-video call kami. Kaya sumama yung aking loob,” Francis said.

After their conversation, the couple decided to travel to Quezon in time for their daughter’s birthday party.

[I told my wife not to tell Francine that we would be coming to her party because we might not be able to get through the checkpoints. Francine might get her hopes up for nothing.]

Fortunately, they arrived at their home in Quezon just in time. They disinfected themselves and changed clothes before they greeted their daughter.

[I saw how happy Francine was when she saw us. You could see it in her eyes.]

“Niyakap nila ako. Kiniss.

[They hugged me. They kissed me. They gave me a teddy bear. I want the three of us to be always together.]

As a belated birthday present, the KMJS team gave Francine a new bike that she could use while she spent time with her parents.
