Blind musician who is stepdad to 6 kids receives early Father's Day gift from Kapuso Foundation

A blind musician from Antipolo, Rizal received an early Father's Day treat from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Benjamin Naag, 63, used to sing and play a guitar at train stations before the coronavirus pandemic hit.

He has taken responsibility for his six step-children with Florita, a widow whom he met through his music.

"Mahal ko sila, mahal ko siya. Bilang asawa, magtutulungan kami," he said.

("I love them, I love her. As husband and wife, we help each other.")

When the community quarantine was imposed over Luzon, however, Tatay Benjamin could no longer go busking and had to resort to begging for alms.

Florita approached the GMA Kapuso Foundation for help not only for her husband, but also the other members of the Blind Livelihood Generation Organization, Inc.

Her wish was granted. Tatay Benjamin, along with 100 others received grocery packs, caps, soap and skincare essentials, and a free prostate cancer antigen test.

"Salamat sa tulong ninyo sa pagbibigay ng biyaya," he said.
