Beatrice Gomez's GF Kate Jagdon reacts to her historic Miss Universe Philippines win

Beatrice Gomez's long-time girlfriend, Kate Jagdon, expressed her pride for the beauty queen when she took home the Miss Universe Philippines crown on Thursday, Sept. 30.

The Cebuana beauty made history by becoming the first openly out member of the LGBTQIA+ community to win the coveted and prestigious crown.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Kate shared a photo of Beatrice wearing her crown and wrote, "You have proved once again that you’re worthy of all the big things in life. Congratulations to you for doing it once again! We are so proud of you!"

"The new Ms. Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez and the rest of her court, besting over 99 other candidates in the competition. Your journey of being authentic is an inspiration to every Filipino," she added.

Kate further thanked everyone who had helped Beatrice along her journey, from her fashion designer Furne Amato to their loved ones and supporters.

She said, "To our family, friends, beabies, gomezuniverse, teacher Jake and the people who supported, who prayed, who rooted and congratulated her, thank you so much. You are the reason why she held her head high and continued to conquer her fears."

Last month, Cebu City candidate Beatrice shared information about her relationship with Kate, her girlfriend of six years, during the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Interview Challenge.
