Rocco Nacino still in cloud 9 after nearly a year of marriage with Melissa Gohing

Rocco Nacino is still in cloud 9 after nearly a year of marriage with Melissa Gohing.

"It’s every day of learning you know… Adjusting stage pa ako. I think I can say nasa cloud nine pa ako," he told GMA News Online.

When asked how it has been, he answered "I love it, love it," as he showed off his wedding ring on his finger.

Which is why doing "To Have and To Hold" was something of a challenge for the actor. "It's a story about a failing marriage 'di ba? Napaka ironic na parang wow bagong kasal si Rocco ang saya saya siguro nila ng asawa niya, tapos biglang bam I take on a [character] with a struggling marriage."

Rocco said "it was very tiring to embody the character na bugbog na bugbog na sa kanyang failing marriage."

"It’s been a different kind of adjustment, medyo weird because I had to do a role like that. But it’s fun waking up in the house na katabi mo 'yung asawa mo," he said.

"Ngayon alam ko na 'yung sinasabi ng mga kakilala ko na iba talaga kapag kasal ka na," he added.

On having a kid

When asked if he and Melissa would want to plan having a baby or let it happen naturally, he said it's a "little bit of both."

According to Rocco, he knew he wanted to be a father in his early 20s.

"Kasi gusto ko, yung anak ko makakalaro ko at you know I'm a very active person I enjoy sports so yun ang pakay ko talaga to have a kid early," he shared.

"I think I'm at the right age. I'm 34 years old, my wife turned 30, either to plan or to let it come naturally, whatever comes first," he said, factoring the few more things he needed to fix in the house and the fact that Melissa still wants to play volleyball. 

Last September, Rocco and Melissa celebrated their fourth anniversary together. The two got engaged in November 2020 and tied the knot in a surprise ceremony last January. — LA, GMA News
