Sunshine Cruz feels blessed to be with her kids amid pandemic: 'Ang sarap lang ng feeling'

Apart from her memorable roles and ageless beauty, Sunshine Cruz is loved by fans for being a caring mother to three beautiful young women.

In an internal press conference for GMA-7's "Stories from the Heart," the actress said she felt "blessed" just to be able to spend time with her kids throughout the pandemic.

"Yun lang 'yung natutunan ko ngayong pandemic — natutunan kong mas maging grateful for the blessings na dumarating sa'min ng mga bata," she told GMA News Online.

"Kaya nga sabi ko sa mga bata, 'Napakalaking pasasalamat anak,' na kahit nandirito lang kami sa bahay, kumikita pa rin tayo, pati sila may mga opportunity na dumadating sa kanila."

Sunshine admitted she still had a lot more to learn about her kids, but she couldn't be any more proud to be their mother.

Just this September, her daughter Angelina achieved first honors and made it to their school's dean's list.

"Sobrang close lang kami and I'm very, very blessed na ang mga anak ko, ay napalaki ko ng mga maaayos na bata," she said.

As an added bonus, Sunshine's closeness with her kids even had a good effect on their savings

"Sa totoo lang, nitong pandemic, parang mas nakatipid pako sa kuryente kasi nasa iisang kwarto lang kami natutulog!" she said.

Sunshine went through a tough ordeal this year when she tested positive for COVID-19 in March.

Now fully recovered, the actress is set to star in “Stories from the Heart: Love On Air” this November 29 alongside Gabbi Garcia, Khalil Ramos, Kate Valdez, Kiray Celis and more. —JCB, GMA News
