After Leon Barretto released his open letter for his estranged father, Dennis Padilla, the comedian immediately responded to his son via social media, too.

“I am sorry [Leon,] Miss ko lang [kayo]," Dennis wrote on Instagram Monday.

Posting an old photo with his son, Dennis asked Leon, "what false narrative [I] said in public? [I’ve] been reaching out to all of you for 15 years in private.”

In a separate post, Dennis posted a handwritten letter with a red heart emoji caption.

“To be your father is the greatest honor I have received,” he began.

In he letter, Dennis also admitted there were things in the past that he regretfully made.

“In the end, I regret all the moments I let slip by. I regret all the times I hid my feelings from you,” the actor said.

“If I could have but one wish, I would love to spend some time with you. After all there is not much more to life than that,” Dennis said.

Marjorie and Dennis separated in 2007. They have three kids together, Julia, Claudia, and Leon.

Leon’s open letter published on Sunday is in response to Dennis’ now-deleted Instagram posts where he said that his children forgot to greet him on Father’s Day.

In June 2021, Julia also opened up on her now-private vlog post that she was “traumatized” from her past relationship with her dad.
