At Marriott’s Cru Steakhouse, a dinner that’s set to disrupt dining as you know it

It’s a dining experience that starts with the bill and ends with a welcome. Everything in between? Pure culinary madness of the best kind.

Manila Marriott’s Executive Chef Meik Brammer admits he’s a bit nervous about this one-of-a-kind dinner. “It’s something that we’ve never done before, so it might affect your appetite one way or another.”

Welcome to Cru Steakhouse’s Upside Down Dinner, experience that starts with the wait staff leading you to a...disheveled table. Don't worry: It’s intentionally prepared to look that way.

Take a seat and study the four-course menu. Carefully, as the letters are printed backwards — just like the sequence of courses.

This Upside Down Dinner starts with dessert, followed by the main course, and then soup and finally, the appetizer.

Strange, yes? But that's the idea: To do something that Manila hasn't seen before.

The Upside Down Dinner will be available at Cru Steakhouse every Thursday starting July 4, 2019 until December 2019. Enjoy this unique four-course meal for P2,800 nett per person. Special lunch arrangements could be made for large parties. Reservations are highly encouraged.

It’s a unique experience that does something to your appetite and palate. It sounds simple at first — after all, life is short and we should all eat dessert first. But when served upside down, there’s a certain appreciation for the flavors and harmony that come into play, whether for this reversed set-up or the traditional way of dining.
