The first Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory restaurant in the world is opening in Manila!

Countless foodies swear by those delectable Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory (TMCF) cookies, its creamy Hokkaido soft-serve ice cream, and the lusciously decadent Japanese-style cheese cake.

And pretty soon, foodies will be able to enjoy the best creamery products from the Japanese import right in store as TMCF opens its first and only full-service restaurant in the world right here in Manila.

On December 20, Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory Savory + Sweet opens right in Manila.

“The Filipino market has an evolved taste with a particular liking for Japanese culture, and most especially, its cuisine. Filipinos are very appreciative of different kinds of flavors because we like trying new things. TMCF Savory + Sweet aims to cater to the adventurous side of the Filipinos’ palate,” shared Bryan Tiu, president of I-Foods Group Inc., the team that brought TMCF to the Philippines.

Much like TMCF’s mall stalls and pop-up stores, the restaurant is bright and airy with a touch of warmth from the wooden accents in the interiors. Its rustic yet clean look makes the café homey, not at all intimidating.

At their 75-seater flagship store in Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Pasay City, Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory Savory + Sweet serves one-of-a-kind creations that takes comfort food and enhances it with a touch of Japanese influence. Their culinary team even went to Japan for a rigorous training period to ensure that all dishes, while unique to the Philippines, pass their high standards.

According to Tiu, folks can expected “satisfying and well-crafted food, from savory Omurice to sweet confections like our signature Milk Pies and fluffy Japanese Pancakes.”

Each dish is made fresh at the restaurant using ingredients air-flown from Japan on a regular basis.

"[They're] created from scratch using imported ingredients from Japan. combined with the talent and expertise of our in-house chefs. That’s also one of the reasons why our price point is very accessible. We want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy our food," Tiu continues.

Take note that while the restaurant will be open to the public starting Friday, it will be a “soft launch” phase, which means the current menu will continue to evolve as the team gets to know their market.
