DTI to allow dine-in at samgyupsal restos in GCQ areas but no face-to-face seating

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will allow customers to dine inside samgyupsal restaurants in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) starting June 15, Monday.

However, according to a report by Susan Enriquez on "Unang Balita," customers will not be allowed to dine face-to-face.

DTI Undersecretary Ruth Castello said two customers will be allowed to dine in tables for four, but will not be allowed to sit across from each other.

According to an earlier announcement from Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases has approved the resumption of dine-in services in GCQ areas provided that only 30% of the restaurant's capacity will be allowed inside.

A 30% capacity means that if a restaurant or food establishment can accommodate 100 persons before the pandemic, they can now only allow 30 persons to dine-in, the Trade chief explained.

Aside from this, other health protocols should also be observed like frequent disinfection, wearing of face masks and social distancing.
