Scrambling for a special New Year celebration? This omakase dinner might just be what you're looking for

In case you still have no concrete plans to ring in 2021: Nobu has a special six-course omakase dinner menu available tonight December 31 and tomorrow night, January 1.

It might just be the kind of new you're looking for: the omakase dinner brings out the best of Japanese-Peruvian cuisine, a marriage of flavors that is not quite of the mainstream but one you'll be glad you tried.

It starts with — count them — nine canapés, including the sashimi salad, pork tacos, and the shrimp maui salsa sunshi.

After which it continue with a trio of Nobu sushi cups, followed by Jumbo Prawn wrapped in phyllo pastry with truffle aioli, sake and mirin reduction gelée, and mushrooms.

There's also a surf n' turf course, followed by a cup of ozoni aka miso soup with handmade mochi, considered the most auspicious of the dishes traditionally enjoyed during New Year’s Day in Japan.

The dinner ends with a matcha tiramisu and includes a complimentary glass of champagne, an auspicious drink to welcome the new year.
