BAON SERYE

This woman creates healthy and Instagram-worthy packed lunches for her husband

Eating lunch during work days has become a challenge for many of us amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Gone are the days when we can step out for a quick meal at the nearest restaurant without any worries, so bringing packed lunches has become the habit for some people.

For one newlywed wife, preparing her husband's baon and documenting it online has become an enjoyable hobby in these trying times.

Paula started an Instagram account called "Baon Serye ni Mister," where she posts photos of her husband's baon three times a week.

Her packed lunches include rice, classic Filipino dishes, sandwiches and other snacks, and fruits or some sweets for dessert.

She started the project when the canteen in her husband's office closed down, making her inspired to cook healthy meals for him at home.

"Bawal sila lumabas saka magpa-deliver ng pagkain once nakapasok na sa office so naisip ko ba't 'di ko na lang siya pabaunan," she said.

Her husband, Dale, enjoys the food that his wife prepares with love and also sees bringing his own baon as a practical choice.

Pangalawa, mas tipid po," he said.

Paula encouraged other moms to be creative in making up recipes for their family.

"'Wag kayong matakot i-explore yung kitchen niyo.
