Gabbi gave their dishes a "two thumbs up" and claimed that even those who aren’t vegan are going to enjoy this.

It’s also for people leaning towards a healthy lifestyle," she said.

According to the owner, she wanted to serve as a way for Filipinos to enjoy a healthier lifestyle without depriving themselves of their favorites.

"Ang issue talaga natin is health. At least sa trabaho ko, makakapagbigay ako ng pagbabago sa pagpe-prepare ng pagkain ng Pilipino (in) a healthier way and at the same time, ‘di sila mabo-bore," Chef B said.

ELPI Vellychon Haus

In their mission to have a healthier Philippines without removing lechon from Filipinos’ lives, ELPI Vellychon Haus came up with a vegan version of it.

He uses corn, wheat and soy beans for the filling while cassava for the fat. The skin that everyone loves, meanwhile, is recreated by mixing wheat, food coloring, herbs and spices together.

According to a nutritionist, it is important for Filipinos to maintain a healthy diet especially now that everyone’s going through a health crisis. —JCB, GMA News
