Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo master island life as they go spearfishing amid quarantine

Andi Eigenmann and her partner Philmar Alipayo are definitely mastering the island life amid quarantine.

They just picked up a new hobby: spearfishing.

On Instagram, Andi shared a photo of herself carrying Baby Lilo as she stood beside Philmar, who was seen proudly carrying a fish he just caught.

In the caption, Andi wrote "We’ve all somehow picked up a new hobby or found a new passion during this time, somehow! @chepoxz’ is spearfishing!"

Andi said for most of the locals in Siargao, catching fish through spearfishing and cooking it afterwards is a common form of livelihood.

"Their fresh catch usually goes straight to the market or is served to us at restaurants."

But now that the country is currently fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), most of the fish caught are brought home to their families, Andi said.

"I am so grateful to be one of those. Suddenly, (mindanao) pinaksiw tastes a hundred times better, because the fish is caught for me."
