FDA says alcohol, sanitizer flammable, urges caution when storing

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Wednesday advised the public to take caution when storing containers of alcohol and hand sanitizer, which are flammable.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, FDA director general Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo said that the bottles or containers of alcohol and sanitizer should be kept properly.

“Para makapatay kasi 'yan ng bacteria tsaka virus mataas talaga ang percentage niya, mga 60% to 70% ang alcohol niyan,” Domingo said.

“In fact, sa bote meron laging  warning 'yan na flammable siya, so maaari talaga siyang masunog kaya kailangan mag-iingat tayo,” he added.

He discouraged storing the bottles of alcohol and sanitizer near fire or in a contained area with high temperature.

“Mas mabuti talaga kung 'yung malilit na dispenser na lang na nasa bag natin at bulsa kaysa sa iniiwan-iwanan natin sa mga lugar na maiinit,” Domingo said. — Joviland Rita/BM, GMA News
