Jelai Andres tested positive for COVID-19

Jelai Andres revealed in a vlog post that she tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) last October.

"Isa sa pinaka, pinaka, kinakatakot ko mangyari sa 'min at 'di niyo alam 'di ko na-share: nagka-COVID po kaming lahat. Positive lahat ng kasama namin dito sa bahay," she said.

Jelai narrated that she has a favorite cousin, who happens to be a frontliner, with whom she would always hangout.

Despite her cousin testing negative for COVID-19, a workmate of said cousin tested positive.

"May ka-work siya na nag-positive. Hanggang sa yun, na-positive na kaming lahat. Dun nalaman na nakuha sa cousin ko," she said.

According to Jelai, she had the worst condition, among all of them at home.

"Lahat ng symptoms meron ako," she said.

In the video, Jelai shared the clips of from when she had the infection, as well as her recovery.

Jelai is thankful that they were able to go through it, and that her mother and father live in a separate home. She was only too happy to have a lot of work welcoming her, after her ordeal.

Aside from "Owe My Love," Jelai is also a regular on "The Boobay and Tekla Show."

"Mahalin po natin ang mga family natin. Ingatan po natin sarili natin. Bakit ako umiiyak? Ang saya ko kasi nakasama ko 'yung family ko ngayong holiday," she said.

"Sobrang thankful ako kasi nalagpasan natin 'yung mga ganung pangyayari, 'yung mga trials sa life natin. Masaya ako kasi nag-Christmas kami nitong nakaraan na magkakasama," she added.

Jelai's video, which was published on YouTube last January 2, is still in the top 10 trending list of the video platform with more than 2M views.

The Philippines’ COVID-19 tally hit 480,737 on Wednesday after the Department of Health (DOH) announced 1,047 new infections as three laboratories failed to submit reports on time.
