Duterte reminds Filipinos: The mask goes over your nose

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday night reminded Filipinos to wear masks properly to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In his televised weekly briefing, Duterte said that masks can greatly reduce the risk of getting coronavirus, as long as they are worn properly.

"Kasi yung iba nagma-mask tapos nakikita ko yung ilong ninyo, sumasabit doon just on the edge of the mask, the upper portion," he said.

"So it does not really give relief at all, kung ganoon ka careless ang tao na gumagamit," he added.

He also urged Filipinos to observe the minimum health measures to prevent the spread of the virus: social distancing, mask-wearing, and frequent proper handwashing.

Health experts say that the masks must cover the nose and mouth and must snugly fit the lower half of the face.
