Sisters with neck lumps get checked with help of GMA Kapuso Foundation

Two sisters from Antipolo finally got medical checkups after years of suffering from the lump on their necks with the help of GMA Kapuso Foundation.

Elma Esto, who had been suffering from the lump for more than 20 years, said it had adversely affected her daily life, including her sleep.

Her sister, Cassandra, also had the same condition. Over the years, Elma said she prayed that they would someday receive help.

In April, the GMA Kapuso Foundation visited them at home and provided them with groceries.

This month, the foundation brought them to an ENT head and neck surgeon, Dr. Gil Vicente, to help them learn about their conditions.

Elma was diagnosed with a case of thyroid cancer, which caused a hoarse voice and needed immediate surgery.

Cassandra, meanwhile, was found to have hyperthyroidism. Its symptoms include a fast pulse, weight loss, palpitations or tremors.

Both Elma and Cassandra need assistance so they can get their needed treatment.

For interested parties, donations can be made through bank transfers, Cebuana Lhuiller, PayMaya, or vouchers on Shopee and Zalora.
