GMA Kapuso Foundation seeks help for child born without anal opening

While he does things children his age usually enjoy, life has been difficult for 3-year-old Reign.

According to a “24 Oras” report Friday, his mother Inemmer Maglipac noticed a day after he was born that he had no anal opening.

According to pediatric surgeon Dr. Lester Suntay, Reign was born with an abnormally located anus. He said some babies with the same defects could be born with a small or without an anal opening, or a misaligned anus.

To relieve his condition, Reign had undergone temporary colostomy. He had since been using a makeshift bag taped onto his abdomen made of plastic and feminine napkin because they couldn’t afford a regular supply of colostomy bag.

Reign is now one of the beneficiaries of GMA Kapuso Foundation, which will help get his much needed surgery in partnership with World Surgical Foundation.
