Iya Villania warns fellow parents after son Primo gets skin infection on the nose area due to constant wiping

Iya Villania warned her fellow parents after her son Primo got a skin infection on the nose area due to constant wiping.

On Instagram, Iya shared a photo of Primo's face showing that his upper lip and nostrils are inflamed.

"Just want to share this with fellow parents… Drew and I never thought this could happen from wiping your nose so much," Iya wrote in the caption of her post.

The "Chika Minute" host said, "Primo "had the sniffles and so being the big boy he is, he would go ahead and wipe his nose (a mix of dry facial tissue and saline wipes but more of the saline wipes)."

Iya said Primo wiped it so much "that eventually the area around his nose got so red and inflamed."

Meanwhile, Iya said their doctor "called it out as cellulitis and that if it worsened that he’d have to be admitted as the infection might approach the brain."

Fortunately, Iya said Primo didn't have to be admitted and is now recovering.

"Thank God he didn’t have to be admitted and looks like we’re recovering but just wanted to give the mamas and papas a heads up coz as much as we want our children to learn to be independent, we never want to see them in a situation like this," she wrote.  "I know… it’s a hard mix."

According to Iya, the first two photos was taken during the start of the infection and the next photos are the succeeding days.

Iya reassured that Primo is getting better and that "it's all drying up now and slowly falling off."

According to WebMD, "cellulitis is a common infection of the skin and the soft tissues underneath."

"It happens when bacteria enter a break in the skin and spread," it added. —JAB,GMA News
