Michelle Dee on building confidence: 'It's through acknowledging that you are not perfect'

By GMA Integrated News

Although she is now known as one of the most confident women in the business, Michelle Dee was not immune to insecurities when she was starting out her career.

The newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines said on “Updated with Nelson Canlas” that her confidence was built on past experiences.

“I've been through a lot of failures in my life, I've been through a lot of struggles especially this past year,” she said. “But confidence is built through experience, it's through acknowledging that you are not perfect.”

And to do just that, Michelle — a hardworking go-getter — said that she always makes an effort to better herself.

“So every day I don't waste time fostering things that make me feel weak, but I'm always building towards becoming better every single day," she said.

“And ultimately, that's what builds confidence, knowing that you put in the work and hoping that people see through that," she added.

As Miss Universe Philippines, Michelle will represent the country at the international pageant in El Salvador, Central America.
