Heart Evangelista: 'Pets aren't accessories'

Heart Evangelista, a well-known dog lover, shared with Preview magazine recently that pets should never be treated as accessories.

In the magazine's feature and Instagram post, Heart said, "At the end of the day, they’re like kids. They’re family."

"They’re not an accessory; you don’t just buy them because they’re cute as puppies and then you abandon them when they’re older. A relationship with a dog (or any other pet) is supposed to be a lifetime," she added.

Heart and her pet, Princess Panda, were among the celebrities and their pets chosen for Preview Magazine's article on National Pet Day on April 11.
