Wes Anderson releases animated storyboard sketches of 'The Grand Budapest Hotel'

Wes Anderson gave his fans a treat and shared an animated version of his 2014 film "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

Narrated by the filmmaker himself, the video featured storyboard sketches from way back when the movie was still being conceptualized.

"As part of the planning process while making THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, director Wes Anderson made storyboards animatics to block out the scenes for filming each shot," said home video company Criterion Collection.

Criterion has so far just released the first part for free. The rest of the animated film chapters are available in Criterion's Blu-ray release of the film.

"The Grand Budapest Hotel" follows the story of Monsieur Gustave H (Ralph Fiennes), the famed concierge of an aging hotel, and his protege bellboy Zero (Tony Revolori), as they get embroiled in the murder of a wealthy dowager.

The film won a handful of awards after its release, including Oscars for Best Original Score, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
