'Black Mirror' Season 6? Creator unsure if people can stomach dystopian stories right now

If you're looking forward to another season of "Black Mirror," prepare for disappointment: the creator said he's not working on it.

In a radio interview, Charlie Brooker said he's unsure that the world can "stomach" another dystopian story at the moment, what with the world at standstill as it faces the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

"I’ve been busy, doing things. I don’t know what I can say about what I’m doing and not doing," Brooker told U.K. Radio Times

"At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those," he added.

Instead, Brooker has decided on keeping work light.

He said, "I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh."

"Black Mirror" is Netflix's Emmy-winning series that portrays multiple facets of society falling apart.

Its fifth season was released in June 2019, consisting of three episodes starring Anthony Mackie and Miley Cyrus, among others.
