'Rurouni Kenshin' final chapter films delayed to 2021 due to COVID-19
We'll have to wait a little longer to see the final chapter of the live-action film series "Rurouni Kenshin."
According to a Facebook announcement, the two films slated to drop this year — "The Final" and "The Beginning," has been delayed to May 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The final chapter will tell the origin story of Kenshin Himura's x-mark on the cheek.
The "Rurouni Kenshin" film series adapts the the manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki called "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story," also known as "Samurai X."
The first film, "Rurouni Kenshin" was released in 2012. Its sequels "Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno" and "Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends" were released back-to-back two years later.
