Ben&Ben fans create LGBTQ+ campaign 'BBs Pride Home'

Ben&Ben fans launched a campaign to support LGBTQ+. It's called "BBs Pride Home'' and it aims to give their fellow listeners a safe space to open up and share their stories and experiences.

The nine-piece collective's percussionist Toni Munoz said their fans launched the campaign to signal the start of Pride Month this June. It can be found on social media as a hashtag.

"'Yung BBs Pride Home nag-launch sila ng campaign dahil Pride. Dahil start of the Pride, they encourage people to share stories about being part of the LGBTQ+ community and how they relate that story to Ben&Ben songs," Toni told the press in a press conference and private listening via Zoom.

"So I guess very important move 'yun. [There] are [people] willing to listen to them."

Toni said it gives the whole band joy to see their fans become friends.

"Nakakatuwa kasi maraming taong nakakahanap ng mga bagong kaibigan or kahit di kaibigan or mga taong nakakaintindi sa kanila or nakaka-relate sa kanila," Toni said.

"Initially nagsimula lang dahil sa music. Common like nila ang music namin pero eventually lumalalim at lumalalim pa yung relationship nila sa isa't isa," Toni continued.

Toni said their fans role in their lives is that they serve as one of their inspirations.

"Their role in our lives, personally sa iba samin sobra silang nakakainspire kung pano sila maging andiyan para sa isat isa para sa community," Toni said.

Meanwhile, Miguel shared that even before starting the band, all of them had conversations on what they want their fans to be like. Seeing how they've grown into a community initiating change is a dream come true for them.

"In a way natupad din yung dream namin nung simula na hindi lang sila basta mahal nila yung artist kung hindi they connect in the lives of each other," he said.

"It's very fulfilling to see they bring about positive change in the lives of their fellow youth," he added.

Followers have always had a special place in Ben&Ben's music. Recently, the band shared that the title of their new song, "Lifetime," was inspired by a fan who left a comment on their "Pagtingin" video on YouTube.
