Ben&Ben to hang online with SG artist Benjamin Kheng, Honne to hold live online concert

Could gigging online be the future of live music?

While online benefit shows feel like they've already wrapped up, bands both local and international continue to to perform on the internet, with no particular goal than to entertain.

English electronic duo Honne, for instance, will be going live on YouTube tonight, June 23, at 4pm (BST) or 11pm (Philippine Time).

In a Facebook post on Monday, the duo said they were going live on YouTube "to play a few cheeky songs for you, including NSWY."

"NSWY," or "No Song Without You" is their latest single, released just a week ago. It's already reached nearly one million views and on Spotify, it's generated over 2.8 million streams since.

Honne was supposed to perform in the Philippines for Wanderland this year but the event was unfortunately postponed due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Meanwhile, indie darlings Ben&Ben will also go live tonight at 10pm — not so much to play another one of their beautifully produced online jams but to hang with and grill Singapore-based alt pop artist Benjamin Kheng.

The live online hang will take place on Kheng's Instagram Live show, B.B.Q.

Toninght's IG tambay comes at the heels of their much-talked about TikTok collaboration, which attracted an audience of more than 3 million.
