6 tips on how to earn money as a YouTube vlogger

Content creation through vlogging has boomed especially during the quarantine period. So many are turning into vlogs to keep entertained, but so many too, are turning into making vlogs as a way to earn some money.

But how do content creators monetize their vlogs?

In the latest episode of Quarantined with Howie Severino, guest vloggers Janina Vela and Macoy Dubs

shared a few steps you can follow to earn a few bucks from it.

1. Make your own channel. Anyone who has a Gmail account can start a YouTube channel. You only have to register on the video sharing platform using your email.

2. Choose a theme. What type of content would you want to share with the world? Is it fashion? Do you want to do makeup tutorials and be a beauty vlogger? Is it cooking? Maybe unboxing of toys?

According to the episode, you can make any type of content as long as it doesn't violate YouTube's policies and community guidelines.

3. Be consistent. A channel should be posting videos regularly with at least 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months. You need at least 1,000 subscribers before you can monetize your channel.

4. Make an account on AdSense. YouTubers who meet the aforementioned requirements earn money from the advertisements placed in the videos.

Create an account on AdSense where the money you earn from advertisements would go in.

5. Make money through partnerships. Vloggers can earn through partnerships with brands and/or by endorsing their products.

In the interview, vlogger Janina Vela said most of the earnings really come from brand deals and sponsored content. But it takes hard work. According to Janina, you first have to build your personal brand, make it presentable to ad agencies, to make them want to partner with you.

"They'll see that you're a competent influencer. They'll see that you make excellent work. They'll see you're effective in what you do."

6. Apply for a license on your viral videos

If your video has become viral, you can apply for a license on your videos so you can charge organizations who might want to use it including television networks and media outlets.
