The film will reportedly be written by Katie Silberman, and produced by Amy Pascal. Rachel O’Connor will be the executive producer.

Spider-Woman is a superhero from the Marvel universe, whose origins began when Jessica Drew becomes ill due to uranium exposure in her father's lab. To save her live, her father injects her with an experimental serum based on spider's blood.

Wilde shot to fame with her role as Thirteen in the medical television series "House." She's also known for her role as Quorra in "Tron: Legacy," Suzy Miller in "Rush," Rachel Salas in "In Time," among many others. —JCB, GMA News
