If you loved "The Haunting of Hill House," you're probably counting down the days until "The Haunting of Bly Manor" starts streaming on Netflix this October.

In a newly-released behind the scenes featurette, creator Mike Flanagan and executive producer Trevor Macy explained how the new chapter of The Haunting anthology is going to be a whole new experience.

First of all, "The Haunting of Bly Manor"

is set in the 1980's, after an au pair's tragic death. Henry Wingrave hires a young American nanny to care for his orphaned niece and nephew who reside at Bly Manor, where a dark series of events begins to unravel.

"Hill House" fans will still get to see some of their favorite cast members, only they are playing "very different" roles.

These include Victoria Pedretti and Oliver Jackson-Cohen the siblings Nellie and Luke in the previous chapter.

"Some of our fan favorite cast members are returning from last season in very different roles, you get to see a different side of them last time than you did last time," Macy explained.

As for the story, Flanagan pointed out that "Hill House" is about a very tight family, whereas "Bly Manor" is about strangers.

"All of the people who inhabit Bly Manor come from completely different backgrounds and get to know each other through friendship, tension, conflict and love," Flanagan explained.

The creator also emphasized that what sets "Bly Manor" apart is that its heart is a love story.

"When you look at the word romance, it conjures up images in your mind, gothic romance means something very very different... mystery and doom, incredibly passionate emotions that swung into the darkness of human nature," Flanagan explained.

The creator hopes the audience would see "Bly Manor's" "wonderful connection between a great love story and a great ghost story."

"The two are really the same thing, how each of us when we fall in love, is kind of giving birth to a new ghost, something that's gonna follow us for the rest of our lives," Fanagan explained.

"I hope that the intermingling of a ghost story and a love story is really impactful for people, and I think by the end of the season the line between the two is pretty much obliterated entirely," he added. — LA, GMA News
