Furne One on Monday gave GMA News Online an exclusive hint on the swimwear he designed for Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidates.

A few moments after MUP Organization announced that worldwide renowned couturier will be the official finals swimwear designer, Furne dished out a few clues and details on the upcoming swimwear collection he designed specifically for the Filipina beauty queens.

"It's all about the girls, that's the main thing. You have to think about the girls because it's not about me, but I have to put my DNA of course because the collection should have like a DNA of my brand," he said in a virtual interview via Zoom.

Furne said it will be all about the women standing out, "in all shapes and sizes operating their outer and inner beauty and inspired by their advocacy."

The world-acclaimed designer, who has dressed some of the biggest superstars globally, said that he is very particular about the details.

"Details really matter most of the time, and for me it's about blending my DNA and it should be the girl's personality that will show because it's a competition," he said.

Giving a hint of what the swimsuit would visually look like in color and design, Furne said, "I'm incorporating my design, however, we should not forget that there's also beauty in simplicity and purity."

"I'm always, if you think about Filipino, we're very rich in natural resources and materials. Our people have been our best armor to each and all of our battles that's why I partnered with a Filipino based swimwear brand," he said.

For the MUP finals swimwear, Furne partnered with local luxury swimwear brand Amari Swim.

He has also designed  couture jackets for the candidates which they will be wearing in the competition.

Furne is the creative genius behind Dubai-based Amato Couture, which has dressed a number of celebrities including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, and  Katy Perry among others.

He is also the designer behind Ariana Grande's lavish dresses in her "God is a Woman" music video.

The first Miss Universe Philippines will air on GMA-7 at 9am on Sunday, October 25. —MGP, GMA News
