New 'Blue's Clues' episode to feature Josh's lola, showcase Pinoy culture

A new episode for "Blue's Clues & You" will feature the grandmother of Josh and showcase Pinoy culture.

In a now viral tweet, Filipino scholar Dr. EJ Ramos David posted a 43-second clip of Lola's introduction in the show.

The grandmother, played by Carolyn Fe, appears to be close to Blue as well, as Josh's loyal friend was shown licking her face.

"We have an entire generation of American kids being exposed to a Filipino dude on TV, doing the 'Mano po' to his Lola, & making bibingka," David said. "My kids are seeing their lives on TV."

According to a press release, the episode, titled "Blue's Big Baking Show," will air on Friday, November 20.

Josh, played by Filipino-American Broadway actor Joshua dela Cruz, was named as the host of "Blue's Clues" reboot in 2018.

He is said to be a cousin of Steve (Steve Burns) and Joe (Donovan Patton), the previous hosts of the beloved Nickelodeon series.

Steve and Joe will also return in a holiday-themed episode on December 4, "Blue’s Night Before Christmas." —MGP, GMA News
