Christmas lights on wheels brighten up streets of Tacloban

With many Filipinos unable to leave the house this holiday season, some locals found creative ways to bring Christmas to them.

In Tacloban City, Leyte, vehicles covered in dazzling Christmas lights paraded through the streets as part of a friendly contest called “Christmas Lights on Wheels.”

According to a report on “Unang Balita,” residents got to enjoy the show from the safety of their own homes, and the winner is expecting a prize of P20,000.

Meanwhile, at a church in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, is a 15-foot Christmas tree built using a mix of face masks, face shields, and traditional ornaments.

The project, which was prepared for the coming Simbang Gabi, symbolizes the hope and safety amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
