‘CLIMATE ACTION IN YOUR AREA’

Blackpink urges public to act now amid climate change

“Climate action in your area!”

The record-breaking South Korean girl group has taken to social media to urge the public to act now amid climate change.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, Blackpink encouraged their fans to join them in their journey to learn more about climate change ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference on Nov. 21, 2021.

“We’re not experts and we’re not fully aware of all the issues but we do care about our planet and we want to learn more,” Rose said.

Lisa added that when she was born in 1997, 46% of the earth was still made up of natural resources but now, only 35% remain and “more are disappearing every day.”

“But it is not too late. We can still decide to make it better,” said Jennie.

“This is a global challenge. Each and everyone of us can make a difference and we need to act now. This is our planet. This is our future. Climate change affects us all,” they said.

“We hope that you’ll join us in our journey,” Jisoo added.
