Riordan said the show still had "a long way to go."

"But I am so excited!" he added.

Back in May, Riordan announced that "Percy Jackson" is coming to Disney Plus as a series.

He had assured that he was personally involved in the production and that it will follow the storyline of the original five-book series, "starting with The Lightning Thief in season one."

"Percy Jackson & the Olympians" is a series of books that brings to life Greek mythology as it tells the story of Percy, a once normal boy who discovers he is the son of Poseidon when he comes of age.

Two live action films have adapted the first two novels of the series: "Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief" in 2010 and "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters" in 2013. —JCB, GMA News
