Simone Ashley to play Kate Sharma, leading lady of ‘Bridgerton’ in season 2

“Sex Education” star Simone Ashley landed the female lead role in the second season of “Bridgerton.”

The announcement was made through Twitter on Tuesday by Netflix.

“Get ready to fall in love with Simone Ashley, who will play Kate in Season 2 of Bridgerton,” they wrote in the caption.

“Kate is a smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools—Anthony Bridgerton very much included,” they added.

Lady Whistledown, meanwhile, also expressed her excitement on writing about the new character once the show starts airing.

“Quite the juicy bit of gossip, dear readers ... This author is certainly looking forward to many a column covering Miss Kate Sharma,” she wrote in Bridgerton’s Twitter account with a bee emoji.

Simone is known for her role as Olivia in Netflix’s original series “Sex Education” which also stars Emma Mackey and Asa Butterfield.
