Jung Hae-in is army private in new drama 'D.P.'

After capturing hearts in the romantic drama "Something in the Rain," and Jung Hae-in is playing the lead in an all-new Netflix Original series called "D.P."

Netflix just unveiled two new production stills during its "See What's Next Korea 2021" press event on Thursday, giving a first look at the upcoming show.

Short for “Deserter Pursuit,” the story follows Joon Ho, an army private who becomes a member of a special unit that tracks down military deserters and encounters the realities of confused young soldiers.

Jung Hae-in will be joined by Koo Kyo Hwan ("Peninsula"), and Kim Sung Kyun ("Reply 1994") as members of D.P. while Son Seok Koo ("Suits") plays an official who disapproves of them.

"D.P." is based on a popular web toon by Kim Bo Tong that features a "realistic portrayal of the brutal violence and human rights violations committed in the military," Netflix said.

The series is expected to "balance the tension and thrill of chasing down deserters from the perspective of 'soldiers catching soldiers' with shedding light on the mental torment and growth of young people." —JCB, GMA News
