New fantasy series 'Shadow and Bone' coming to Netflix in April

Netflix has dropped the trailer for a new fantasy series titled "Shadow and Bone" coming in April.

The series is based on Leigh Bardugo’s worldwide bestselling Grishaverse novels.

It follows the story of a lowly soldier and orphan Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li) in a war-torn world where she discovers and unleashes an extraordinary power that could be the key to setting her country free.

In the trailer, Alina is seen riding a ship that enters what seemed to be a wall where they will be attacked by flying monsters in the dark, she is then saved by a burst of light.

Alina will be torn in things she knew as she trains as part of an elite army of magical soldiers called Grisha.

As she trains to hone and control her newfound partner she realizes that her allies and enemies can be one and the same.

The series "Shadow and Bone" is a Netflix production from 21 Laps Entertainment which is set to premiere on April 23.

Aside from Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), other stars who will be starring in the series include Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), and Ben Barnes (General Kirigan).
