'The Falcon and The Winter Soldier' is set 6 months after 'Avengers: Endgame'

We're still processing "WandaVision" and we already have another Marvel series to look forward to!

And there's more reason to be excited now because a report by Collider revealed that "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier" is set at least six months after the events of "Avengers: Endgame."

Director Kari Skogland told Collider that it was "absolutely critical" that the show was set in that time period.

To recall, half of the global population that had disappeared due to the "Blip" had just returned.

"[We're] just past the shock of it," Skogland was quoted as saying. "We're just past the joy of it — because we're imagining that there would be a lot of joy, in people returning. Now we're into the reality of it, which is complicated."

Skogland pointed out that after the Blip, "everything changed."

"You've got different economic circumstances, different border circumstances. Different countries were cooperative, that weren't before. Neighbors are cooperating, who weren't necessarily getting along before. People moved into houses that they didn't own before. Everything changed. Now we're into that moment," she said.

Head writer Malcolm Spellman also said that they felt like the Blip could make the series "feel relevant."

"Part of the mission statement for this series was that we create heroes of the moment who can lead us into the future. To do that, they have to be dealing with issues that regular people would understand," he was quoted as saying.

"And I think anyone who's been living through this pandemic can understand how the people in the MCU feel about a global problem where half the population has just reappeared," he added.

Disney earlier released the final trailer for the upcoming series, where Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) were shown navigating a world without the beloved Captain America.

The six-episode series is set to premiere on Disney+ this Friday, March 19. —JCB, GMA News
