Lindsay Lohan to star in Netflix romantic comedy Christmas film

Lindsay Lohan is set to star in a Netflix romantic comedy Christmas film.

According to a Variety report on Monday, the actress will play the role of a "newly engaged, spoiled heiress" who suffers with amnesia after a skiing incident.

She then finds herself in "the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his daughter in the days leading up to Christmas."

Although no other cast members have been announced, the film will be directed by "A Christmas Waltz" director Janeen Damian. Meanwhile, Amanda Philips and Eric Jarboe will be the movie's executive producers.

Lindsay, who rose to fame at the age of 11 years old with her film "The Parent Trap," is known for her roles in "Freaky Friday" and "Mean Girls."

The film will begin filming in November. No release date has been announced.
